THANK YOU
It’s been another busy week juggling my roles as a mum, business owner, and employee. Running my home bakery, Cookies by Double M, has been a whirlwind, especially with so many orders to fill! Balancing that with my evening job can be challenging, but this week something truly special happened that made it all feel a little bit lighter.
On Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending a networking event with fellow mumpreneurs, other mums running their own businesses just like me. Let me tell you, it was like a breath of fresh air! I’ve always felt like I was doing this business and life thing on my own, trying to keep up with everything and sometimes feeling a bit overwhelmed. But after that meeting, I realized that I am far from alone.
Connecting with other mums in business was more than just an exchange of tips and advice; it was like finding a community of like-minded women who "get it." We shared stories of balancing work and motherhood, exchanged insights on growing our businesses, and even laughed about the chaos that sometimes comes with being a mumpreneur. It was empowering to be in a room full of women who, like me, are driven, passionate, and determined to make their businesses thrive while also managing the demands of family life.
For anyone running a small business from home, especially as a mum, it can feel isolating. There are days when the hustle feels never-ending. But connecting with others who are in the same boat makes such a difference. Suddenly, you’re reminded that there’s a whole community out there—women who understand the challenges, who are navigating the same balancing act, and who are cheering each other on.
One of the best things I took away from the event was the realization that networking isn’t just about business growth; it’s about emotional support too. We’re all in this together, and we can lift each other up.
So, as I wrap up this week, I’m feeling grateful. Grateful for the opportunity to meet these amazing women, grateful to be reminded that I’m not the “odd one” doing it all, and grateful for the community of mumpreneurs who inspire me to keep going, even on the toughest days.
If you’re a mum running a business, I highly recommend reaching out and networking with others. You never know who you might meet or the support you might find. It’s these connections that make the journey feel a little less lonely and a lot more empowering.
Until next time, keep hustling and remember, you are not alone!
Stay strong,
Maria from Cookies by Double M đź’ś
